The octopuses on this piece are hand sculpted from polymer clay and lovingly painted to resemble the species "Octopus briareus" also known as the Caribbean Reef Octopus. One octopus is cosily tucked inside the vintage tea cup, the other sits on top.
The exterior of this tea cup turned octopus den is generously covered in corals, patiently hand beaded by the artist with lots of love and attention to detail. The corals are made from a mixture of materials but primarily consist of superior quality Miyuki rocailles and delica's. All beads and paillettes are set on many metres of silver wire.
This thoughtfully hand beaded reef is a celebration of texture, shape and colors that keep surprising with delightful details in every nook and cranny.
